Ian Bowler

Ian Bowler is a Portfolio Manager at Janus Henderson Investors, a position he has held since joining Henderson in 2011. From 2008 to 2011, Ian was a portfolio manager with Attunga, where he established and managed an agricultural fund. Previous to this, he managed his own fund, trading in futures, fixed income, commodities, equities, and associated derivatives as well as structuring a number of corporate short-term debt instruments. During this period, he also acted as an independent consultant, training treasury and trading teams throughout Australia and Asia at numerous investment banks, financial institutions, central banks, and derivative exchanges. Prior to this, Ian was with Rand Merchant Bank, where he managed a proprietary account and traded in securities and derivatives across global markets. He began his career on the Sydney Futures Exchange as a white badge trader managing an option book.

Ian graduated with degrees in economics and science from the Australian National University. He has 33 years of financial industry experience.
