Alex Barr

Alex Barr is a Senior Portfolio Manager on the UK-based Multi-Asset Team at Janus Henderson Investors, a position he has held since rejoining the firm in 2019. In this role, he manages the Henderson Alternative Strategies Trust plc. Previously, he was with Aberdeen Standard Investments from 2005, most recently as global head of private markets and real estate investment oversight and prior to that, head of private equity. Alex held various positions with Deutsche Asset Management from 1998, lastly serving as director, and was responsible for oversight and direction of UK multi-asset investment strategies. He was a US equities analyst with Henderson Global Investors from 1995. Alex began his career with Franklin Templeton in Edinburgh in 1993.

Alex holds an MA degree in accountancy and economics from the University of Aberdeen and has completed the Oxford Artificial Investment Programme at Oxford University, Said Business School. He holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and has 31 years of financial industry experience.
