Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts are meticulously guided and evaluated by our DEI Committee, an integral group that includes key members from our Executive Committee, Senior Management, and the People department.

By closely monitoring our journey and making necessary adjustments, we ensure that our commitment to diversity is not just a statement but a tangible practice that enhances our results and underscores the value of 'Diversity Improves Results.'

We believe our people are our most valuable asset in meeting the needs of our clients. As such, we make firm commitments to all employees:

  • Our Employee Value Proposition shapes how we support our people and their development and includes four primary pillars: Purpose, People, Opportunity, and Way of Life.
  • We believe in gender equality and are included in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index, which tracks the performance of public companies that are committed to transparency in gender-data reporting.
  • In 2024, for the sixth consecutive year, we were awarded a score of 100 in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2024 Corporate Equality Index related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality.

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)

To foster an inclusive workplace, our ERGs serve as networks for employees with common interests and backgrounds. These groups help ensure our policies support all audiences, further our cultural intelligence, and connect the organisation to diverse populations in the community. They also work to continually implement programmes that meet the needs of our people and strengthen our global community.

The Ability Alliance

Mission: Foster a culture of respect and equity and provide a community for those of us who identify as being differently abled as well as supporting and educating managers and all allies.

Causes We Support

JHI proudly supports Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day

During the month of March, we will work to identify ways to tell stories as we honor women of the past and women of today who are making an impact on society. Women at JHI will share career advice to inspire others to make a change and embrace equity. Janus Henderson is proud to be included in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, and we are pleased to be able to host events focused on creating a gender-smart organisation.

JHI proudly supports Black History Month

During Black History Month we leverage this as an opportunity to highlight and honor Black voices, experiences, and contributions. Janus Henderson champions diversity, as demonstrated through early celebrations by our Black Professional Network and initiatives like the Blood Drive for Sickle Cell Awareness and Career Conversations.

JHI proudly supports Global Diversity Awareness Month

Thinking differently and challenging the status quo is a behaviour that we live daily through our ‘diversity improves results’ value. Throughout the month, we will challenge our employees to learn about and engage with diverse communities. These initiatives exemplify our investment in one another and our community, because Together We Win.

Janus Henderson is committed to supporting and celebrating LGBT+ inclusion all year long. Janus Henderson’s advancement of LGBT+ workplace equality has garnered recognition from the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index (CEI). We are proud to be recognised as a Leader in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion and we received the LGBT Great Gold Standard designation.

JHI proudly supports Veterans Day and Day of Remembrance

Veterans Day and Day of Remembrance serve as a time to acknowledge and thank those who have served in the armed forces. We are humbled by these individuals’ commitment and dedication to their country and their willingness to sacrifice so much for their homeland. To that end, Janus Henderson supports non-profit organisations, and our associates participate in events to identify talent that has transitioned from the military.

JHI proudly supports: Earth Day

At Janus Henderson, we are committed to demonstrate our support for environmental protection. The theme for Earth Day 2025 is “Our Power, Our Planet” which seeks to harness renewable energy to build a healthy, sustainable, equitable and prosperous future for us all. Other initiatives include steps to combat plastic pollution and to end single-use plastics.
