What To Do If You Suspect Fraud

Do you think your account or personal information has been compromised? Get back on track.

Call 800.525.3713 to speak to a Janus Henderson Representative.

We are ready to answer your questions and help you prevent unauthorized transactions on your account. You can change your account number, remove certain trading privileges, and even place a hold on your account, if necessary. You’ll want to request new checks and account numbers, plus replace any bank cards.

Place a fraud alert

Request your credit report from the three major credit-reporting agencies. You may notify any one of these agencies and place a fraud alert on your credit file.

Next, protect your rights by filing an identity theft report with the Federal Trade Commission’s consumer protection site. This site helps you prevent, detect and recover from identity theft.

Contact the authorities

Use your FTC identity theft report to notify law enforcement. A good place to start is the Internet Crime Complaint Center, a partnership between the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center. It helps report internet crimes to local, state, federal and international law enforcement agencies.

Change your passwords

Start with updating your email passwords; most of your accounts are probably linked to your email. When you reset these passwords, it can block unauthorized users from tapping into new password notifications. After you’ve done that, begin updating passwords for your banks and financial institutions.

Review your statements

Monitor your bank and financial institution statements. Criminals may steal sensitive information, and then later sell it to other identity thieves, so stay vigilant.
