Janus Henderson is committed to helping keep your information safe and secure.
Client information protection and prevention of fraudulent account activity are our top priorities.
How we verify your account
Remember, Janus Henderson will never solicit personal information or your username and password through email, phone or text. We will only verify certain personally identifiable information when you contact us by phone.
Email is not a secure method to send information. Please do not include account or personal information in emails to Janus Henderson. Please note that we will never ask for your Social Security number or account number by email under any circumstances.
Enhanced Verification Technology
One of the first lines of defense against fraudulent account activity is choosing a hard-to-guess username and password.
The longer your password, the harder it is to crack. That’s why Janus Henderson allows you to create an alphanumeric password that is up to 20 characters long. Consider using a passphrase, a string of words, or combination of letters, numbers and special characters that you can remember, and that is hard for someone else to guess.
Janus Henderson utilizes a technology called two-factor authentication, also known as two-step verification, to verify a user’s identity before allowing them access to their online account. This technology simply adds an additional layer of security to your typical log-in process.
When you access your account online, you're required to enter your user name and password. If those are correct, two-factor authentication will also require users to enter a unique, eight-digit security code that only you can receive by email or text message based on your preference. By completing this second step, you share something that would be difficult for others to know, making it more likely that the individual accessing the account is you.
Account Protection Features
Only the account owner can make account changes or perform transactions. You can also choose to appoint an authorized trader to conduct limited types of transactions on your account. Each update to your account triggers a notification to you via your chosen method of delivery – either U.S. mail or email. Janus Henderson practices a variety of strict verification and transaction policies that are meant to prevent unauthorized activity on your account.
Proceeds from transactions will only be delivered to the bank or address of record on your account. If your bank or address is updated, withdrawals will only be processed after a required holding period, which allows time for Janus Henderson to notify you of the update prior to any transactions taking place.
If you would like, we can restrict certain transactions, access and even freeze your account. This is helpful if you suspect fraudulent activity or have experienced identity theft. You choose the level of restrictions that make you feel most comfortable.
Trusted, Encrypted Technology
Janus Henderson uses multiple security systems to help keep your account safe. Information sent to and from janushenderson.com is coded, or encrypted, to prevent unauthorized data capture. This creates a secure connection between janushenderson.com and your computer. Always look for “https” at the beginning of the URL in your browser window when you are on janushenderson.com. Another way to check the security of a site is by clicking on the padlock icon in the address bar, where you can view its security certificate. If it doesn’t have a padlock icon, the page and data you send and receive may not be encrypted.
Today’s digital world is always evolving, so Janus Henderson employs regular testing for vulnerabilities. Security teams monitor servers 24 hours a day where your account information is stored.
Shareholder data is stored in secure buildings on servers that are built according to industry-standard security configurations.
